“Unregister” locks the device out remotely: it frees the room and revokes the device's access, so the next time the app opens it shows the PIN-gated setup screen — use it if a tablet ever goes missing. “Remove” clears an old entry from this list (it would also need the PIN to come back). ✏️ names a device.
Changes appear on every tablet within seconds. {room} and {teacher} are filled in automatically.

Android: paste the link into Chrome on the tablet, allow the
browser to install apps when asked, then open the downloaded file. The
same link works on every Android tablet.
iPad: paste the link into Safari on the iPad — the App Store
opens with the code filled in; tap Redeem, then Get.
Each iOS link works once, so copy a fresh one for every iPad.
The iPad needs a regular Apple ID signed in (not a Managed Apple
Account).
